Dr Henry Oakeley has been growing orchids for over 50 years.
He is President of the Orchid Society of Great Britain; Research Associate in Orchid Science at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew; Research Associate, Singapore Botanic Gardens; holds the National Scientific Collection of Lycaste, Ida and Anguloa in the UK; The Garden Fellow, Royal College of Physicians of London, and was Chairman of the Royal Horticultural Society Orchid Committee 1997-2007.
He has recently published Lycaste, Ida and Anguloa. The Essential Guide (2008). He lives in Beckenham, Kent, UK.
And has even more recently published Paphiopedilum
Species The Essential Guide (2012) (80 pages) with Guido Braem. Some
of these books will be available at the 19th AOC Conference.
